Most will tell you to get certified, which is wise enough advice but that alone is far from enough to get you to a place where you need to be. If you're looking to get trained on Xactimate, here are some steps you can take:

  1. Familiarize yourself with the software. Before you begin your training, it's essential to understand what the software does, how it works, and what its features are. You can do this by downloading a free trial version and exploring it yourself. Take some time to learn the basic features and how it works. You can also watch tutorial videos on YouTube or read online guides to help you get started.

Here are a few resources

Xactimate Training by Crest LLC
Welcome to Xactimate Training by Crest LLC. My name is Alfred Rey and as an Xactimate Certified Trainer, you can be sure that the information here is presented the way it was intended to be taught & learned. It is meant to lead you to proper training which is intended to make you quick & efficient…

2.  Attend Xactimate training courses Xactware, the company behind Xactimate offers training courses to help users get certified in using the software. These courses range from introductory to advanced levels and cover everything from basic estimating to advanced features like Sketch and Macros. Xactimate training courses are offered both online and in-person, so you can choose the option that works best for you. Attending these courses is an excellent way to get hands-on experience and learn from experts in the field.

3. After completing your training courses, it's essential to practice using the software to hone your skills. You can practice by estimating damage scenarios and comparing your estimates to the actual cost of repairs. You can also use Xactimate's demo version, which allows you to estimate and practice without creating actual projects. No teacher can train you better than working in the field.

4. Join online communities and forums Joining online communities and forums can be a great way to connect with other users, get advice, and ask questions. There are several online communities dedicated to estimating. Facebook Groups are the place to find the best info.

Best groups include

Xactimate Ninjas (https://www.facebook.com/groups/XactimateNinjas/)  and Xactimate Professionals (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1223847924478702/)

5. Get certified Once you have completed your training and gained some experience using the software, you can take the Xactimate certification exam. This exam is designed to test your knowledge and proficiency in using the software. Getting certified can be a great way to demonstrate your expertise and increase your credibility as an adjuster or restoration professional.

If that's all too much work and you want to someone who knows how to write a scope for you. Remote estimating services are a popular go-to solution for that. A good estimator can write a loss from photos and job notes.

A good resource for that would be Titan Estimators. They can provide supplements and initial estimates for you for a cost, but in my experience, the estimate you get back is significantly higher.
