Eagleview Technologies v. Math and Lines

Eagleview Technologies is considering a patent infringement lawsuit against the child in this image for his attempts to recreate house measurements. Ok, thats a joke but it is basically what has been happening over the last 15 years as the company has sued anyone who has even thought to do aerial measurements.

One of the notable legal battles involving EagleView Technologies revolves around patent disputes. In 2015, the company filed a lawsuit against Xactware Solutions, a provider of estimation software for the insurance industry. EagleView accused Xactware of infringing on their patents related to roof measurement technology.A judge agreed with Eagleview stating that because Xactware said mean things about them in emails, their patent on math and art was valid. That part is not a joke. The judge ruled that Xactware's emails were anticompetitive against Eagleview )you know, their competitor).  The lawsuit resulted in a settlement in 2016, with Xactware agreeing to a licensing agreement for EagleView's patented technology.

  1. Competition and Alleged Antitrust Violations

EagleView Technologies has also found itself at odds with competitors in the industry, specifically Pictometry International Corp. In 2018, EagleView filed a lawsuit against Pictometry, alleging antitrust violations and unfair competition. The lawsuit claimed that Pictometry engaged in a variety of anti-competitive activities, including attempting to monopolize the market, price-fixing, and engaging in unfair business practices. The case is ongoing, and the outcome will have significant implications for both companies.

  1. Infringement Claims

In addition to pursuing legal action against other companies, EagleView Technologies has faced infringement claims as well. In 2019, the company was sued by CoreLogic, a provider of property data and analytics. CoreLogic accused EagleView of infringing on their patents related to property valuation and geospatial technology. The case is still pending, and both companies are actively involved in litigation.

  1. Employee Lawsuits

Apart from disputes with other companies, EagleView Technologies has also faced legal challenges from its own employees. In 2020, a former employee filed a lawsuit against the company, alleging wrongful termination and workplace discrimination. The case alleged that the employee was terminated after reporting unethical business practices and racial discrimination within the company. The lawsuit is ongoing, and the outcome will determine the repercussions for EagleView's employment practices.

Now I see why they charge $60.00 a report, lawyers are expensive.
